The Killeshin Hotel was procured by McNamara Construction on a design, build and finance basis and involved the complete demolition of the former 1970’s Killeshin Hotel and its replacement with a new 4 star standard 90 bedroom hotel, complete with Swimming Pool and leisure facilities. The building façade is patinated green copper, timber and stone cladding with sloping roof planes. A stone plinth anchors the building while a lightweight timber pavilion is provided at the hotel entrance. This project was delivered safely, on time and on budget, to a very compressed programme to allow the hotel to reopen to the public in May 2007. We took the client’s brief, in full conjunction with our design team we developed a detailed design and then following a tender process we were successfully appointed on this project on a Design and Build lump sum fixed price basis. Our high calibre management and site team working in line with our McNamara Way Quality Management System took the project to a successful conclusion. We carefully planned and co-ordinated all aspects of the project and developed a site specific Project Execution Plan to achieve the tight timescale while maintaining the high quality required by a 4 star hotel. A state of the art Leisure Centre including a heated 18metre length deck level leisure pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and full gym facilities was constructed as part of the hotel facilities.
