Tuesday, June 09, 2009 : New Library & Information Centre opens at Tralee IT

The construction on a new modern and flexible learning space located in the heart of the North Campus in Tralee IT has recently been successfully completed and is now open to the public.

The state of the art three-storey building offers new facilities for learning and researching.

This new building provides 3,523sqm of accommodation over three floors, which will align with the existing floor levels of the Business & IT Buildings. This building was completed successfully in a live campus environment and was constructed adjacent to live buildings.

The library building includes additional “state of the art” features such as a User Education Room, an Audio Visual Room, an Assisted Technology Room for learners with special needs and areas for journals, official publications and reading rooms.

This project also included 1500 sqm of surface car parking spaces including associated footpaths and roadways.
