Leinster House (RIAI Awards 2001)
New Accommodation for the Houses of the Oireachtas - €31.5m
Awarded for the sensitive and skillful handling of a large building volume on a historic and sensitive site combined with consistency of quality in detailed design and materials
Award Winning Leinster House was completed in June 2000 after a programme of 80 weeks. The main works consisted of 8000m2 of offices over 4 committee rooms and a link within Leinster House which included a Portland stone cantilevered staircase and a double height classical style wall. Maintaining security and not disrupting the sittings of the Dail and Seanad were major considerations. The 2001 RIAI Regional Award (Dublin over £2m) was awarded for the sensitive and skillful handling of a large building volume on a historic and sensitive site combined with consistence of quality in detailed design and materials.
